Develops and manages a high-performance Quality Specialist team with focus on customer needs, compliance, and department high performance. This person will be viewed as a leader or expert in their area of discipline, constantly promoting awareness of best industry practices and making appropriate decisions daily. This person will take a leadership role in developing and implementing new techniques and initiatives to enhance the Quality management system on site and across the Corporation where possible. Depending on the area of responsibility, many of the following Key Responsibilities will apply.
**Your Responsibilities Include**:
- Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
- Ensures all direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality, are current with their training requirements and that they understand and comply with all other regulations governing their work.
- Understands, Maintains, and implements quality engineering systems and practices to meet BSC, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as a quality representative for the department in all internal / external Audits as functional expert.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates metrics to appropriate management to help drive continuous quality and efficiency through the department.
- Coordinate the work activities within the various work teams and ensuring that adequate resources are available to meet customer expectations.
- Responsible for the release and maintenance of all associated department procedures to ensure compliance with Corporate.
- Maintains and enhances cross-functional /site team relationships.
- To build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Support new technologies / systems to enhance documentation systems and review process.
- Is an effective people manager resulting in a motivated high-performance team and is fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department and Strategic Quality Planning (SQP) objectives.
- Provides direction and support to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance.
- Responsible for performing performance appraisals, for all reporting staff.
- Coordination of staff holidays and for ensuring sufficient cover is available to support during shut down periods.
- Responsible for ensuring the department operates within a set budget.
- Perform collection, analysis, and trending of quality indicator data in support of management review goals and objectives.
- Initiate, investigate, and assist in generation and completion of NCEPs.
- Manage functional area to support engineering, quality, R&D and VIP projects.
For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable:
- Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
- Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
- May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
- Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
- May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
