We're looking for a **QA Lead** to join the engineering team at Modus.
**About You**
**Experience Level: Senior**
**(In reference to requisition 1594)**
You have 10+ years experience in DevOps and Test Engineering/Software QA with a digital technology company. Your vast senior level experience includes manual and automated functionality, regression, and integration and extends to risk-based systems, UI, reliability, scalability, load, performance, and cross browser/platform testing.
You are familiar with test management tools like TestRail and your hands-on experience with automation (preferably Python and Pytest) also covers experience with API testing and automation tools, including Postman.
Your proven track record delivering high quality products following Agile (namely SCRUM and SAFE) development and testing methodologies, have only helped you with a variety of deployment environments and tools.
You have proven experience defining test strategies at the ART Level as well as managing and coaching QAs across product scrum teams to deliver against those strategies.
You excel in the ability to use data and metrics to maintain an informed development planning process, make and gain support for critical release decisions and to implement changes that support a quality first process.
You have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
**In this role you will**:
You will lead manual and automation engineers. Mentoring and coaching everybody on the importance of Quality Assurance at all levels; Onboarding new QA members so that they are aware of processes and best practices; Resolving conflicts between individual team members or even between different teams; Motivating them and keeping them focused. (Holding x-teams meetings weekly, sharing progress, learning about issues and proposing contingency plans on the fly to reduce risk); Confluence + Jira space - Rights to allow creating Jira filters and reports and space to share up to date KPIs.
You will define testing strategies to ensure releases are up to industry standards; Create testing plans (per Sprint, per Release); Evaluate the deliverables through Sprints to identify areas where improvements can be made
You will work with teams to create manual and automated testing strategies that align with existing organizational strategies and industry best practices (e.g. testing pyramid - shift effort from UI testing to API testing, leveraging Visual Testing, etc)
You will collaborate with other QA Leads to ensure consistency across the organization
You will identify and document risks, and create plans to mitigate them; Perform root cause analysis and root cause eradication of critical production issues
You will identify opportunities for process improvement, provide and implement solutions
You will produce regular testing reports for each sprint and release that including reports on manual and automated testing progress, defects, etc.
You love learning and understand that software is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet. You are self-driven, self-learner willing to share knowledge and participate actively in your community.
Having overlap with your team is critical when working in a global remote team. Modus requires all team members to overlap with EST hours daily. In addition, reliable high speed internet is a must.
