**About the Opportunity**
We seek a Professional Services Engineer to join Wind River's Professional Services Studio Linux and VxWorks teams. Wind River is a world leader in RTOS and Linux platforms. VxWorks and Wind River Linux (based on the Yocto distribution) provide solutions for industries such as Telecom, Industrial, Medical, A&D, and more. With over 30 years of experience developing embedded operating systems, Wind River has a globally experienced team of VxWorks and Linux kernel, design, and compiler experts. Our company has established long-term partnerships with leading silicon companies, ensuring cutting-edge hardware platforms supported by Wind River embedded operating systems.
**Role and Responsibilities**
As a Professional Services Engineer at Wind River, you will be an integral part of the Wind River Studio Linux and VxWorks Professional Services teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting customers by resolving technical issues and providing solutions.
- Collaborating with the global field engineering team, premium support team, and R&D engineers.
- Contributing to open-source communities.
- Fixing defects reported by internal and external users.
- Monitoring and resolving security issues.
- Designing and implementing software components for VxWorks and Linux Operating Systems.
- Integrating open-source or independent software vendors' components.
- Designing and implementing use cases for various embedded components.

**Required Qualifications**
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related majors.
- At least 5+ years of experience working with VxWorks or Linux platforms, including kernel fundamentals, user space, and build systems. Knowledge and experience in real-time operating systems would be a nice-to-have capability.
- Experience in development and familiarity with C, Python, and Shell programming languages.
- Experience with Git and Jira would be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of Operating System concepts and Linux kernel internals.
- Knowledge and experience in fixing and patching Linux distributions (Yocto, CentOS, etc.).
- Deep understanding of processor architectures such as ARM, PPC, MIPS, and X86, or at least familiarity with one of them.
- Proficient in English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
