**Team/Department Description**:
Moody's is looking for a driven, meticulous Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Team. Position objective is to provide financial analytics and reporting within Moody's Corporate function and support the team throughout phases of the FP&A processes and projects.
**Role/Responsibilities**:
Support members of the team in the execution of financial planning and analysis processes, projects, and ad-hoc requests as required by the Finance organization by embracing the following responsibilities:
- Provide support processing large amounts of financial data to create detailed reports and/or presentations based on analysis of results.
- Provide support and analyses on the actuals, forecasts, and budgets for month-end variance reporting.
- Collaborate in the preparation of monthly reports and variance analyses that will help identify key focus areas for management in a timely manner with guidance from direct manager and/or senior team members.
- Assist with the preparation of various financial planning processes and deliverables: forecast, budget, 5-year strategic plan, etc.
- Assist with inputting data into Moody's financial system.
- Partner with teams and develop good working relationships across the organization.
- Assist in the development of new reporting solutions and identifying key focus areas for management with guidance from direct manager and/or senior team members.
- Implement best practices for improvements to processes and reporting.
- Present to and communicate with senior leadership on business results and projects.
- Peer review of deliverables from across Moody's, including Investor Relations materials.
- Provide support on ad-hoc requests and cross functional initiatives as business needs require.
- Develop broad based knowledge of terminology and related business practices of the Finance Department.
**Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Business or quantitative field.
- Excellent verbal & written English skills.
- At least 1 - 3 years of accounting/finance work experience required.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- Detail and data quality oriented and capable of summarizing large amounts of data and communicating findings.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly in a high-pressure environment.
- Desire to learn new skills and cover new challenges.
- Applies knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems.
- Capacity to learn from feedback and willingness to grow and improve.
- Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and as a member of the team.
