Your Role
As Finance Manger - LATAM based in Gensler's Costa Rica office, you will manage the corporate accounting functions in the region including offices in Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia and Dominican Republic.
Reporting directly to the Controller/Finance Director, you will work closely with Regional Operating Officers, Office Directors and Regional Accounting teams within the LATAM region to provide financial leadership and a high level of internal client service.
You will also ensure that local and global policies and protocols are followed and will mentor and support the finance and accounting team members.Technical accounting expertise and integrity, as well as excellent verbal and written skills are required.
What You Will Do
The Finance Manager role requires a highly motivated and ambitious individual who has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment. You will provide financial leadership and oversee full corporate accounting functions including but not limited to standalone audits, local books compliance, audit firm relationships, Costa Rica free trade zone compliance, accounting policy documentation and other compliance as needed.- Serve as an integral member of the Hub's global leadership team- Regularly interface with Regional Operating Officer, Regional HR team, Tax, Payroll and other regional team members as needed- Manage and develop a team of one accountant in Costa Rica with the potential of adding additional team members as the region expands- Manage external accounting and audit relationships in all LATAM countries- Manage audits and standalone reporting in the LATAM region including, Costa Rica, Colombia, Procomer, customs in Costa Rica and other Audits as needed- Manage General Ledger accounting and reporting along with local books for all LATAM offices including Costa Rica which has in house SAP financials- Manage the LATAM intercompany process from reviewing intercompany reports, book the local intercompany AP and AR invoices, collect the corresponding support for each country and assist both Intercompany team and Treasury team with net or individual intercompany settlements- Ensure Deltek Vision and entity specific electronic invoicing systems are reconciled regularly and work with regional accounting teams to clean up variances- Periodic review of financial information with regional financial leadership (e.g. major project progress, revenue recognition, accounts receivable and legal reserves)- Support the Tax team for tax and regulatory reporting including the annual report for the DIAN in Mexico and management of the free trade zone reporting and compliance in Costa Rica including the operational annual report filed with Procomer- Assist with ad hoc reporting for internal and external needs- Participate in monthly close activities as needed for the LATAM region- Generate, analyze, and summarize large sets of data for reporting purposes on an as needed basis- Work with internal clients to assure compliance with internal accounting policies- Communicate effectively and on a regular basis with finance staff throughout the firm in a support capacity- Document and update process and workflows for LATAM region processes to ensure proper compliance with statutory requirements
Your Qualifications- A Senior Accounting or Finance professional with a minimum of 8 years of multinational accounting experience- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; MBA, CA or CPA qualification desirable- Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards in Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, and Dominican Republic- Knowledge of IFRS and other LATAM regulatory frameworks. US GAAP is a plus.- Good understanding of tax regulations and tax accounting principles, e.g. VAT, income tax and deferred tax etc.- Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, organizational and analytical skills; detail oriented with a high level of accuracy- Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment, and produce accurate and timely deliverables- Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the abili
