We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced _**Controller **_to join our real estate tech company. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support informed decision-making.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Financial Planning & Budgeting**:
- Lead the development and implementation of the annual budget, including setting financial goals and objectives.
- Develop long-range financial plans and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- **Strong analytical and critical thinking skills**:
- The ability to dissect information, identify key points, and analyze potential risks and opportunities within a contract.
- **Accounting & Internal Controls**:
- Oversee the entire accounting function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Manage and develop internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- **Compliance & Regulatory Reporting**:
- Manage tax preparation and filing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns.
- Stay informed of changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure the company's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- **Leadership & Collaboration**:
- Provide leadership and guidance, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Build strong relationships with other departments within the company to ensure alignment between financial goals and overall business objectives. (essential)
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic financial insights and recommendations. (essential)
- Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving financial needs. (essential)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role overseeing the financial aspects of a business. Financial management of real estate is a plus but not a requirement.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting. Familiarity with real estate operations is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS (as applicable) and relevant accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Proficient in Quickbooks Online.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
