Analyst, Data Governance & Strategy
**Job Description**:
The Analyst, Data Governance & Strategy position is responsible for supporting the data governance function for the global finance organization.
In this role the data analyst will help organize internal data and resolve issues with data accuracy, accessibility, completeness and timeliness impacting the finance organization.
The data analyst will work closely with the other Finance CoE functions (Process Automation & Optimization and Advanced Analytics & Reporting) to drive the finance digital transformation strategy, accelerating the global finance teams' digital maturity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work within the Finance CoE team to develop a Data Governance framework and strategy for the finance organization.
- Build and manage a prioritized backlog of data initiatives for the finance organization.
- Provide insight and guidance on new finance initiatives by identifying the appropriate data and data workflows to support the "to be" solution.
- Guide finance data owners through their responsibilities to validate, maintain and secure their respective data sets.
- Work with finance data owners to capture and define primary data elements in the Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) the primary data elements from their respective data views.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose potential solutions for incomplete or inaccurate data in finance views and tables in Cloud Data Platform (CDP).
- Work closely with finance data stewards and owners to identify and help resolve inaccuracies, incompleteness, and quality issues with their data views.
- Develop detailed end-to-end process flows of the current state, identifying data pain points and potential resolution opportunities.
- Able to work in a team environment and gain support/approval from all stakeholders.
- Liaise with other Finance CoE team members, external consultants, and internal IT resources to design and implement deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Information Systems or equivalent field
- 2+ years' relevant work experience
- 1+ years' experience with data analytics, data governance, and data strategy techniques and tools
- 1+ years' experience with Tableau or equivalent BI tools
- 1+ years' experience in agile project delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Able to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to self-manage multiple tasks and priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent
- 1+ years' experience in data mining working with large datasets in SQL and Alteryx (or similar software solution)
- Experience with Snowflake data cloud
