Huntsman is seeking a Sr S&OP Demand Planner supporting the PU Division located in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to Customer Service Manager.

Position Summary

The Demand Planner is responsible for facilitating, analyzing and refining demand forecasts across short, mid, and long-term business planning horizons. By leveraging current software, they will examine both broad and detailed customer and product data including both statistically generated forecasts and commercial inputs. This role collaborates closely with the Americas' Commercial and Latin America Supply Chain teams, and international counterparts in Europe and Asia. The Planner covers all products, locations, and customers for Huntsman Polyurethanes in the Americas. We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed professional to join our dynamic team. This role will be transitioning from another country and will be ideal for a self-starter who thrives in an independent work environment while also possessing a strong commitment to collaborative teamwork.

As the Sr S&OP Demand Planner you will:

- Assist in demand management and priority setting situations giving input to master planners from all departments.
- Assist in priority setting to drive towards long term planning gap closure that could be impacted by near term shortfalls.
- Manage the monthly demand and forecast accuracy process end to end including preparing and facilitating meetings, ensuring alignment across different time horizons (short, medium, and long-term forecasts) and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
- Responsible for deep-dive analyses, trend identification, and generating actionable insights throughout the forecast process and provide outputs on trends/changes to appropriate groups. Activities would include, but are not limited to, forecast accuracy analysis, statistical forecasting, future casting, and bias monitoring.
- Facilitate detailed discussions on New Product Introductions and phase outs to proactively communicate the impact of product launches and phase-outs on supply chain and inventory levels.
- Facilitate long term (Roadmap) demand forecast process for all HPU finished products.
- Provide summaries of market trends and Commercial strategic intent
- Communicate and collaborate with Demand Planner equivalents from other regions, across departments, and with external stakeholders where relevant.
- Maintain and analyze integrity of data sourced from Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
- Develop and maintain tactical reports using programs such as Power BI, HSIMS, and OMP
- Communication throughout the organization (internal and cross-functional) at multiple levels (executives, directors, managers, associates).
- HPU Americas OMP key user / expert with responsibility to maintain an accurate tool for forecasting.
- Work with the IT support teams during system enhancements, lending them assistance in the testing phase of implementation, and deployment

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of business experience, with a preference for experience working with systems and data (SAP, Lotus Notes, workflow databases, OMP, HSIMS, Power BI, the standard Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)).

Skills and knowledge
- Understanding of commercial environment, forecasting best practices and metrics, and statistical forecasting
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve non-routine business issues using independent judgment and be able to make complex decisions or situations clear, simple and/or understandable.
- Excellent verbal and written communications, organization and planning, multi-tasking, project management, negotiation, and time management skills.
