The mission of the PPI Learning and Development team is to build the capabilities of all employees to enable them to embrace and implement the PPI Business System, which defines the principles and practices that drive profitable growth at Thermo Fisher Scientific. **What you'll do**
As the Sr. Manager, PPI Learning & Development (L&D), you'll execute lean curriculum learning strategies to build capabilities and strengthen the culture of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System. You'll work closely with our business partners/ functional leadership, the broader PPI community, the HR Talent Development team, and your fellow Learning and Development teammates to create curriculum and delivery models which meet our internal customers' needs, are scalable, and adaptable to an evolving business environment. You will deliver content and teach others how to deliver content to reach audiences around the globe at all levels of the organization. You will use the voice of the customer to continuously improve our offerings and influence senior managers to gain the endorsement of such offerings to ensure alignment across the enterprise. You will execute our communication and change management strategies for the PPI Learning and Development organization and the broader PPI community.
**Key **Responsibilities**
- Support the strategic vision of the PPI Business System by developing PPI learning curriculum and delivery models which address lean principles, PPI 8-step methodology, and mindsets and behaviors necessary to effect a productive culture
- Develop digital solutions in partnership with IT, the PPI Learning and Development team, the extended PPI team, and external resources to address the needs of the global community
- Use influence while cultivating an action-based continuous improvement culture to drive engagement and improvement in the all areas of the company.
- Act as a change leader with the ability to drive large change with the right amount of engagement, empowerment, and participation.
- Develop LEAN curriculum and training offerings using adult-focused learning methodologies to drive sustainable results. (training materials, facilitator guides, standard work, e-learning, virtual hosted webinars (MOOCs), etc.)
- Create roadmap for current and future state of learning offerings.
- Use agile project management methodologies and execution with emphasis on achieving commitments.
- Leverage technology to drive digitization improvements in the PPI Business System.
**How you will get here**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher learning program required, with majors in engineering, science, computer science, operations or business; MBA preferred
- 8+ years hands on implementation and coaching of Lean programs with value-stream mapping, leading and facilitating kaizen events.
- Proven functional transformation deployments that drive productivity, cycle time, and quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction improvements for the entire value stream.
- A Lean Expert with extensive experience and a 'hands-on' track record of implementing successful TPS-based business systems including elements such as:
- Lean Leadership (Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks)
- Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred
- Expertise in problem-solving utilizing a formal program/process (RCCM)
- Deep understanding of mindsets and behaviors demonstrated in successful business environments
- Strong bias for accountability and delivering results on time
- Experience using and working within a Learning Management System and module creation through mock ups to go live.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting without direct supervision
