**Functional Responsibilities**:
Contract Analysis and Risk Assessment:
- Review and analyze contracts, identifying potential risks and deviations from established guidelines and policies.
- Review, analyze, and negotiate contracts with a focus on insurance provisions, including but not limited to insurance policies, riders, endorsements, and indemnity clauses.
- Partner with various review groups across the organization to evaluate contractual terms and conditions to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, identifying and prioritizing potential risks associated with contract terms, delivery, intellectual property, and other relevant factors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, procurement, finance, and operations, to evaluate and mitigate contract-related risks.
Risk Mitigation:
- Evaluate insurance requirements and recommend appropriate coverage based on the nature of the contract, project, or business activity.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend modifications to contract terms to minimize potential risks as it relates to insurance provisions.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and other stakeholders to negotiate and revise contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and risk appetite.
- Coordinate with third party risk team to provide insight on contract risk for suppliers and how this impacts the aggregate risk of a supplier.
- Identify and implement best practices in contract risk management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (8 years) in contract management, risk management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to contract management and risk mitigation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with complex contracts.
- Ability to understand insurance requirements and relate them to services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with contract management software and tools is preferred.
- Professional certifications in risk management, contract management, or related fields are desirable.
