**About the role
The Senior Program Coordinator's role in Kekoldi, Costa Rica is to work closely with the Program Manager and assist with the management and delivery of world-leading volunteer and internship programs to international participants. Your strengths should lie in staff and volunteer coordination as you will be responsible for monitoring the progress of all interns and providing support as a mentor.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with overseeing the overall day to day delivery of projects, including logistics, quality, impact, safety, and the overall effective functioning of the base
- Assist with training, development and management of staff members and participants
- Oversee Health and Safety protocols to ensure the safety of all participants, staff and other visitors to the hub
- Be the escalation point, along with the Program Manager, for any issues which arise at the hub, including participant complaints, medical issues, etc.
- Manage base resupply, ensuring there is adequate food & supplies for base at the best possible price
- Assist with the successful implementation and delivery of all GVI marketing and internal communication initiatives
Help ensure volunteers have a positive experience, identify any issues and work towards solutions

- Ability to identify and maintain minimum standards and best practices Great attention to detail and strong admin skills

Professional skills and experience

Required:

- Experience or background in internship coordination and outreach or a similar field
- Leadership experience
- Proven experience and competence in administration, operations and logistics
- Past volunteer or volunteer management work experience
- Background in science/wildlife conservation
- Health and safety management experience
- Flexible, open-minded, adaptable team player Good interpersonal skills, strong initiative & positive proactive work ethic

Advantageous:

- Fluency in Spanish
- Experience living in remote conditions Health and safety trained
