**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Alajuela location in the Electrophysiology (EP) business. In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the **Planner** III**, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed manufacturing build plans, for existing and new products, that meets defined service level and inventory targets.
**What You'll Do**
- Sales & Operations planning process preparation, including interface with Production, Finance, and other operations groups that are part of this process.
- Collaborates with Industrial Engineering in the capacity assessment and incorporates the outputs of the process into the S&OP.
- Clearly communicate agreed upon production quantities and mix to the Supply Planner Production and other stakeholders.
- Communicates production plan changes to the Purchasing group in a timely matter.
- Zero backorder goal - when backorder exists full responsibility for backorder management, status, prioritization, communication.
- Production Plan attainment reporting and communication, including holding Operations accountable to the weekly build plan and notifying Finance and other stakeholders of variances to plan.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels that meet service level objectives and inventory targets.
- Define and maintain appropriate ZSMI inventory targets that meet the production requirements and the site DIOH goals.
- Support new product introduction activities to achieve planned launch dates.
- Monthly inventory management of excess, obsolete, expiring inventory, including developing and implementing solutions to minimize inventory write-offs and communication with Finance on write-off potential.
- Proficient in ERP system functionality. Defines the build plan based on MRP output and works with Purchasing to drive correct signals for materials requirements.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of working experience in Production Planning or similar roles.
- Advance Command of English with excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Available to work on site.
- Shift Admin
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in the medical manufacturing field desirable.
- ERP experience is a plus.
- APICS or other Planning related certification is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of information systems (SAP preferred).
