**Location**
Central and South America (Managing IT security operations across 15 countries); the occupant of the position will be located in the country where is current based.
**Role Purpose**
The IT Security Senior Manager will oversee and manage the IT security operations across 15 countries in the Central and South American region. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's information assets and ensure compliance with regional and international regulations. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in IT security management.
**Main Accountabilities**
- **Security Strategy and Planning**:Develop and execute a comprehensive IT security strategy for the Central and South America region; Align the regional security strategy with the global security policies and frameworks of the organization; and Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address identified risks.
- **Leadership and Team Management**: Lead and mentor a team of IT security professionals across multiple countries; Foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement within the IT security team; and Coordinate with local IT managers and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of security measures.
- **Security Operations**:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT security function, including monitoring, incident response, and threat management; Ensure the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software; and Manage security incidents and breaches, conducting thorough investigations and providing detailed reports to senior management.
- **Compliance and Governance**:Ensure compliance with regional and international security standards and regulations, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and local data protection laws; Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines across the region; and Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- **Risk Management**: Identify, assess, and manage security risks across the region; Develop and implement risk management plans and controls to mitigate identified risk; and Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
- **Training and Awareness**: Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees across the region; and Promote a culture of security awareness and best practices among staff at all levels.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:Collaborate with global IT security teams to ensure consistency and alignment with global security initiatives; Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on security posture and initiatives; and Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, such as security vendors and regulatory bodies.
**Requirements**:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security, with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Proven experience in managing IT security operations across multiple countries or regions.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish; knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of network security, encryption, vulnerability management, and security incident response.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint protection.
