**Team Overview**
The Data Solutions division is the commercial data business of Moody's Analytics, bringing together a vast catalogue of data to help business decision-makers assess risks and opportunities. The team is responsible for all value-added enrichment to news content. This includes translations, topical categorization, named entity recognition of organizations, people and locations, sentiment analysis, event detection and summarization.
**Overview of role/responsibilities for the intern**
- Perform QA work on News Enrichment
- Research company related filings and press releases
- Improve tagging of entities in news stories
- Monitor news events and trends
- Perform editorial duties, including editing of newsletters.
**Qualifications**:
- Liberal Arts or Library/Information Science Major. BA acceptable, MA preferred
- Experience working with library management systems or platforms.
- Experience with Boolean-based searching.
- Knowledge of Business & Finance preferred.
- Experience with text manipulation/mining using tools (Python, SQL, or similar languages/tools)
- A natural inquisitiveness and the desire to learn new technologies and processes.
