Experian's Revenue Recognition Finance team is seeking a Financial Analyst to meet our growing needs in Costa Rica. As an Analyst, you will be an integral part of the month, quarter, year-end closes for the UK Revenue Finance team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and post journal entries associated with month end close.
- Prepare deferred revenue and accrued sales account reconciliations.
- Analyze supporting documentation with view of deferred revenue and accrued sales positions.
- Review underlying sales contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition.
- Support UK revenue finance team in enforcement of controls and external-internal audits.
- Implement procedures to achieve efficient and effective month end close with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Assist with researching audit and flex analysis requests.
- Perform quality control procedures for deferred revenue and accrued sales.
- Collaborate with BU Finance on gaining deeper understanding of products and contracts at hand.
- Inform UK revenue accounting team of any high-risk items.
- Provide support to the Revenue Finance team for various initiatives and projects.
**Qualifications**:
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting: journal entries, account reconciliation, month-end and year-end close process; experience in revenue recognition activities is strongly preferred.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight time frames.
- Team oriented with a positive attitude.
- Highly deadline driven with the ability to demonstrate ownership of the tasks assigned.
- Strong relationship building skills and a highly professional client service orientation.
- Demonstrated record of process improvements and desire to implement best practices.
- Proven previous job stability, including maintaining long-term work relationships with former employers.
- Must be able to clear the company's pre-employment screening.
**Desired Experience and Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or pursuing.
- Equivalent of CPA -CMA strongly preferred
- Familiarity with LEAN - Six Sigma methodology
