**Job Summary**
This position plays an integral part in developing and implementing sourcing strategies for the buying desk. Will be responsible for executing spot buys, sourcing events, and projects-related activities for mechanical and electrical categories.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Execute one-time or low-complexity sourcing requests as part of the Procurement Excellence Buy Desk
- Gather and analyze data using procurement spend analytics tools
- Work with Market Intelligence team to research and identify potential suppliers for sourcing requests.
- Perform basic cost and scenario analysis to analyze supplier bids
- Research potential vendors, develop and execute RFP for spend less than $1M per annum.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation is translated to RFP and contracts as appropriate.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform sourcing strategy.
- Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing delivering with suppliers and record annual P&L savings.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior sourcing generalists on category-specific requirements.
**Competencies**
**Functional & technical skills**
- Experience with sourcing process, vendor management, contract negotiations and procure to pay operations
- Expertise in sourcing tools (e-sourcing, spend analytics, ERP, supplier management software)
- Negotiation skills - will need to solicit bids and negotiate purchases directly with suppliers
- Breadth of experience across Direct and Indirect Sourcing categories

- Agility and flexibility to develop expertise across sourcing categories in areas complementary to the existing team
- Desire to grow and develop as a sourcing specialist and develop category expertise across Direct portfolios (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Packaging or Chemicals)

**Experience & Qualification**
- 3+ years of procurement experience within Direct categories (e.g., packaging, chemicals, electrical, mechanical, electromechanical)
- Proven working experience as a buyer, senior buyer, purchasing specialist agent, or officer.
- Must have a degree in supply chain management, operations business administration or engineering.
- High level of English language competency (verbal and written)
