As the BI Domain Owner (DO), you are the customer representative working with the customers in your domain to ensure they are receiving the reports, dashboards and DSR support they need to meet well-defined business needs. You are responsible for working with the customers in your domain, in order to provide modern BI Solutions, and guiding them in their design process.
You are the DSR BI ambassador and expert, responsible for maximizing the value of DSR BI delivery by driving enhancements, clearly communicating the value of BI, monitoring adoption by end users and customer satisfaction, and working with the global GREF customer across an organization, its functions, and programs. As BI DO you are responsible for creating, prioritizing, and clearly communicating backlog items and ensuring that the BI domain backlog is transparent, visible and understood.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise, formulate, design and prioritize a domain BI backlog based on the strategic initiatives of a GREF organization, providing domain expertise, thought leadership on data insights and visualization and ensuring the end to end delivery of DSR deliverables.
Engage with your BI Strategist. The BI Strategist is your coach and mentor as you work on consolidating, refining and developing the report portfolio aligned to your domain. Work with them to plan and refine the engagement strategy with your stakeholders, frequency of interactions, understanding the users, their wants, needs, pain points and frustrations and drawing out the right level of detail needed to produce quality value-add reports.
Consult and collaborate with the other DSR Domain Owners to identify opportunities to combine like backlog requests into a single request that produces greater value and more powerful insights to a larger audience.
Synergize with the BI Specialists and BI Analysts on the BI Domain team to determine how you will all work together to understand and connect stakeholder requests and user stories across the domain, weaving them together to deliver value and improve speed to delivery for your customers.
Accountable for the ultimate quality and delivery of the DSR BI deliverables and escalating as needed to ensure the other Domain team members are completing work assigned to them on time and as expected.
Form a trusted advisor relationship with your domain stakeholders (SBEs, YBs, BBs), working closely with them to understand their business, the technologies they use and their data needs, ensuring requests are in line with their business priorities and enabling them to make objective, informed decisions.
Continue to learn and grow your Domain knowledge and expertise by developing and growing a partnership with the Advisory Domain Leads, Product Owners and Data Architecture & Engineering and Data Integrity members within you Domain ecosystem and sharing that knowledge and expertise with your team members.
Perform ongoing analysis of the performance of reports and dashboards within your domain; assessing the life cycle stage of the reports and dashboards to ensure they are adapted or deprecated appropriately.
Provide opportunities for innovation through analytics capabilities.
