**OBJECTIVE**:
**The Value Strategy Lead is a manager-level role within AstraZeneca, reporting directly to the Market Access Director. The Value Strategy Lead is primarily responsible for the definition and development of the market access strategy specifically the Value Proposition Strategy (regarding economic modeling, HEOR, Pricing, Data Generation, and Value-based Health Care initiatives) and its incorporation in the Brand Plans. The Value Strategy Lead must demonstrate outstanding strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and innovative approaches to a diverse and increasingly evolving payor landscape.**:
**The Value Strategy Lead will have to demonstrate clear capabilities to communicate and influence within the Brand teams and other parts of the organization and to assess technical proposals in-depth. The Value Strategy Lead must know the brands, therapeutic areas, and healthcare systems, leveraging this knowledge and experience to develop evidence and data-driven Value stories that will influence the Health Ecosystem.**:
**TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Define Pricing Strategies (Pricing policy, Value Pack, Contracting Toolkit, Market Access Launch Strategy) and Assess Economic Modelling
- Liaison with Medical to create an Evidence Generation Plan to support Incorporation & Reimbursement
- Use Data Analytics for decision-making regarding Access priorities.
- Define VBHC initiatives and IVS resources to help the acquisition processes within the Region.
- Keep up to date in trends, technologies, and innovation in Market Access
- Collaborate with Brand Strategic Teams and seek Alignment with Brand Plans
- Liaison with International Global and Regional teams
- Champion Aligned work with Government Affairs and Advocacy
- Become a Subject Matter Expert for Market Access topics regarding the Value Proposition
- Champion the payer perspective and drive it into brand strategy and implementation.
- Serve as Market Access representative in cross-functional teams, championing payer requirements and incorporating evidence needs within product development strategies.
- Lead the alignment with the Patient Support/Access Programs area.
- Support the implementation of early access programs for AZ products, in collaboration with the cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with CA-MA cross-functional areas to achieve business objectives (HEOR, PAGs/ONS, Comms, Corporate Affairs)
- 100% Compliance with policies & procedures and with the Code of Ethics of AstraZeneca.
- Participate and contribute to various project teams and participate in special projects.

**Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience***
- Graduate / College degree in biomedical science, business, economy, or political sciences/public policy (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification in biomedical science, business administration, finance, or economics (desired)
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the Regional and Local Market Access landscape.
- 1 year of experience working with the definition and development of Economic Modelling (HEOR, Pricing), Data Generation, VBHC, and Value Story in general
- 1 year of experience Payer, HTA, public health, or health policy experience
- Prior relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience within the pharmaceutical/medical industry (desired)
- Prior experience working with clinicians, pharmacists, and payers on evidence-based customer solutions.
- Leadership skills and problem-solving capability as demonstrated by the ability to evaluate threats and opportunities for payers and plan for appropriate evidence generation and access strategies.
- Leadership, influencing, advocacy, and negotiation skills at senior level.
- Demonstrable skills in interactive communication, including the ability to effectively challenge conceptual thinking as necessary.
- Collaborates with technical skill experts and cross-functional teams to gain insight and commitment to operational plans.
- Must be able to exercise strict confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
- Advanced level of English
- Ability to excel in a rapidly evolving and dynamic landscape. Comfortable with change and ambiguity at times.
- Understanding of the drivers of commercial success and the interplay between payer customers and HCP customers.
- Understanding of the needs and expectations of national and regional payers, insurers, and commercial customers in our strategic markets
- Solid understanding and knowledge of the development process for new molecules to influence development strategies to meet the requirements of payers.
- Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating these into TPPs and development programs.
- Ability to anticipate future external payer environment requirements, thinking broadly across multiple geographies, and focus teams on key business drivers.
