YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct reviews of transaction data and initiates correction process if needed to ensure proper compliance on regards to sales and use tax laws.
Assist the data collection, consolidation, import and analysis for the preparations of multiple jurisdictions reporting with sales and use on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual periodicity, including audit defense and voluntary disclosure.
Identify situations when research is necessary providing outline of the issue.
High ability to make tax law research as needed and propose solutions.
Monitoring, reconciling and clearing of tax accounts and handle basic inquiries from tax authorities.
Assist in data gathering in research tools
Collaborate in data gather and documentation of exemption certificates.
Propose process improvement activities.
Collaborates with the team members and process expert/ team lead to develop action plan to perform/execute these activities
Ensures that returns and payments are submitted on time
Initiate amendment process if required to correct previous filings
Handle queries from AP, IC, & Local (including request Monitoring)
Support in change management initiatives and contribute to improve tax processes and implementation of innovation and standardization
Collaboration in requirements from tax authorities.
Documentation of processes and updates of knowledge management.
WHO YOU ARE
B/BS in Finance, Accounting, Law and/or Tax.
At least 3 years of work experience in tax covering tax compliance for USA tax jurisdictions.
English language should be intermediate in spoken and writing.
Knowledge of relevant area, Sales and Use.
ERP Knowledge, preferably SAP.
Data analysis: proficiency in Excel, Pivot tables, LOOKUP functions, experience in Macros would be a plus.
Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Knime, Alteryx, Power Bi, Tableau
Familiarity with tax software tools e.g. Avalara, Vertex, Onesource, etc.
Understanding in researching tax laws, regulations, rulings, etc.
Ability to collaborate with others to be One Bayer and work under pressure with high flexibility in a changing and complex environment
Critical thinking.
Good communication skills.
Intermediate skills of power point.
Ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders.
Being resolutive, independent and a decision-making person.
Demonstrated teamwork spirit.
