Has responsibility for establishing and enforcing multiple concepts relative to the function.
Working tasks might include:
- a. Implements standards and defines guidelines for financial operations and financial measurement for assigned business area(s)
- b.
Provides financial advice and counsel that is necessary for decision-making, operational/strategic planning, and asset and profit management.
Typically relates to a small to medium established business.
- c. Leads and supervises complex audits and sensitive investigations
- d. Applies parameters of internal controls to ensure financial integrity
- e. Implements tax and/or accounting policies
- f. Facilitates effective price management including contract bidding and assessment of competitive price and unit cost analyses for assigned area of responsibility
- g. Responsible for financial data integrity and accuracy
- h. Represents Credit as an expert on strategies to achieve Accounts Receivable working capital targets.
Acts as primary 3M contact responsible for conducting difficult negotiations with companies experiencing severe financial distress, bankruptcies, and company principals questioning policies.
- Incumbent typically communicates with managers, functional leaders, area/business leaders, department heads, and direct subordinates.
May interact with external clients.
- Shares vision and demonstrates company values.
- Negotiates and counsels on an expert level, justifies controversial positions and demonstrates intermediate persuasion skills.
Interaction involves convincing others to cooperate, grant approval, or take action of a certain kind.
- Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards.
- Leading tax team members engaging in tax compliance and compliance-related activities, tax account reconciliations, tax technology support, audit support, and continuous improvement, all of which are aligned with and support the Corporate Tax team's and Global Service Center's global strategic imperatives and operational design;
- Partnering with Corporate Tax team to:
- design and implement meaningful tax operations metrics and reporting capability that clearly demonstrate the health of tax operations, resource utilization, etc.

- develop, implement and continuously improve global and regional standard work; and
- identify and transfer new services to the team.
- Partnering with Corporate Tax team and GSC leadership to align and deliver productivity targets;
- Ensure engagement and motivation of the team
