The Opportunity This position works out of our Alajuela location in the Electrophysiology business unit.
In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.As the Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible in supporting engineering related issues with purchased components, new product development, logistics and planning improvements processes.What You'll Do Assist and support Cross-Functional teams for concurrent engineering activities, i.e.Material changesDiscontinuation/new product developmentNew/alternate toolingSupplier location changesPFMEA execution and analysisStatistical analysis o Process flow and layout improvementsSupply chain related projectsParticipate in developing justification for capital equipment and resources.Participates and provides engineering ownership for all supplied product Non-Conforming Material Reviews.Assist on product transfers and New Product Introductions.Supports continuous improvement projects for purchased components.Works with Manufacturing engineering to assess and address purchased product issues.Assist on Supply Chain related projects and deployments.Assist suppliers to develop capabilities.Support selection and development of appropriate component/Supplier partnership.Initiate change requests.Initiate component characterizations.Support Buy/Make decisions.Define and update requirements for purchased component.Required QualificationsBachelor's in Science, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or other related areas.3 years of working experience in similar roles, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Process Development Engineering experience.Knowledge in the following software: Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SAP.Ability to travel approximately up to 10%.Intermediate Commands of English / RequiredPreferred QualificationsHighly preferred experience creating justifications for capital equipment.Supplier relations and medical device experience.Leading projects related with Supply Chain topicsKnowledge of FDA, GMP and ISO guidelines.Willing to travel
