**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
The role will be both demanding and rewarding where you can make a difference working in a cornerstone team of our organization, with exposure to senior leaders. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant, and with our global accounting teams to drive process optimization through a lean mindset and leveraging of technology and be ready to tackle projects that they didn't wake up thinking they needed to address.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist in the monthly consolidation and reporting process, record journal entries and maintain accurate reconciliation accounts.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the Fixed Asset, General Ledger, and Cash Management.
- Assist in the month end close and reporting process in Local Accounting such as fiscal and accounting duties presentation, taxes declarations, PROCOMER annual packages, external audits, annual and monthly accounting commitments.
- Collaborate in Customs processes (Imports and Exports).
- Close the DUA's in the VUCE System of Procomer.
- Participate in Fixed Assets inventories as needed.
- Prepare employee asset forms and maintain related records.
- Help maintain a strong control environment that is compliant with company policy and accounting standards.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent with a solid knowledge of general ledger structure, and financial statements.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, with IFRS knowledge preferred.
- In collaboration with the Senior Accountant, establish priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently, and execute objectives, under supervision where required.
- Analyze, implement, integrate, and improve accounting and financial technology and processes. Advanced Excel and data management skills are critical.
- Contribute to the successful completion of team projects and deliverables, as required.
- Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside our own area of expertise.
- Energetic, hands-on, and resourceful self-starter who can partner with all levels and functions of the company with a consultative and collaborative approach.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment; demonstrates a sense of urgency and should be results-driven.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to connect and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of peers and stakeholders; constructive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Significant attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- English level (B2+).
- Oracle R12 experience strongly preferred.
- Costa Rica Taxes knowledge, including Law N°9635 preferred.
- VUCE and customs knowledge preferred.
