Working on the Finance team, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with monthly close and financial analysis.
In addition, the person will assist in providing information to internal and external auditors.
The individual will be exposed to industry-specific rules and regulations and will work closely with the crypto accounting team in ensuring compliance with various filing requirements in the Company's fastest growing business segment, Cryptocurrency.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:
- Prepare daily bank and cryptocurrency assets reconciliations
- Investigate and explain breaks from the reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly financial close
- Assist with gathering data and information requests in connection with internal and external audits
- Assist in the preparation of key regulatory filings
- Recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate
- Performance "ad-hoc" requests
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**:
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and effectively communicate with other departments
- Solid comprehension of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and other Microsoft office products
- Highly motivated, a self
- starter and a team player willing to take on new responsibilities
- Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- High level of English proficiency
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:
- BA/BS in Accounting
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience required
- Financial services experience, specifically in the digital assets industry a plus
