Collections functions for S+N with the mandate to optimize Accounts Receivable health, customer satisfaction, and cost to serve:Ownership of all Collection-related financial controlsDrives visibility, reporting and strategy to improve SN's AR positionEscalation support for regional OTC and commercial teamsProvides leadership and direction for U.S. collections teamDrives continuous improvements focused on improving DSO and reducing past due ARImplements the 12-point plan for U.S. CollectionsPartners with internal and external stakeholders Leads a regional team of 30-40 collections employees.
The incumbent is recognized as an OTC/Collections expert within the Company.What will you be doing?Provide leadership and program management over our critical effort to bring our AR aging profile into best-in-classProvide Direct Leadership and Management of the respective regional Collections TeamResponsible to hire, retain, develop team membersImplement order to cash excellence program in U.S. CollectionsEnsures adherence to standardized policies and procedures in U.S. collectionsLead difficult conversations with key customers and stakeholdersProvide input to calculation of bad debt reserve and alerts our business unit partners on potential headwinds/tailwindsEnsure adherence for all SOX process and controls related to U.S. collections.Collaborate with Senior Management and key stakeholders to ensure key performance indicators are measured, communicated, and utilized to drive continuous improvementsOptimize team structure and resources based on the OTC strategyDrive timely collections as well as professional and positively impactful customer interactionsProvide Escalation support and work directly with internal and external customers to resolve collection mattersManage the relationship with third party collection providersResponsible for Unclaimed Property Data reporting for U.S. collectionsEstablish payment plans with customers and negotiate settlement agreementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, Sales, Customer Service, Credit Management, Disputes Management, and Pricing to improve collections processes and procedures.Oversee the collections process and ensure that outstanding debts are collected in a timely and efficient mannerDevelop and implement collections strategies to minimize delinquencies and maximize recoveriesMonitor and analyze collections data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Position level: ( M2)What will you need to be successful?
Education: Master's or bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or similar field.Excellent English skills.Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on team development and motivation.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with team members.Qualifications and experience:Minimum 8 years post qualifying experience.5+ years of people leadership experience.Experience in SAP, FIS GetPaid strongly preferred.Big 4 (EY, PWC, KPMG, Deloitte) trained strongly preferred.Strong financial accounting skills in IFRS.Experience in a multi-national environment and publicly traded company.Experience working in a SOX regulated environment.Experience in a manufacturing/medical device company is a benefit.Agile mindset.Competences: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple and senior levels.Proven ability to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems and issues applying advanced analytical thought and judgement linked with excellent communication (oral and written) to senior and executive management.Requires broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within the financial/accounting world and how this integrates within the business.Leadership through multiple level of managers and across multiple disciplines or processes.Ability to prioritize work and issues effectivelyAbility to focus on the details while maintaining a grasp on wider concepts.Ability to work independently with limited direction;Recommendation of best practices within the finance and business world.Travel Requirements: 5-10% You.
