**A Day in the Life**

At our Finance Department in Medtronic, Plc, we focus on providing timely, relevant, and actionable information to drive the strategic direction of the company.
As a Cost Accountant you are directly involved in compliance in key areas of finance including
a) Working with all departments to understand costing requirements for existing and new products
b): Preparing costings using existing financial standards to ensure accurate costings
c): Managing intercompany relationships to align with pricing and sales strategy.

You will need to bring your financial acumen to deliver and/or manage projects assigned, working with other stakeholders to achieve desired and outstanding financial results.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Allocates costs, collects data, and prepares reports that maintain the company's cost accounting system.
- Ensures that costs are allocated according to established procedures.
- Gathers historical cost data on such activities as material purchases, labor, equipment depreciation, repairs, assembly, operating expenses, etc.
- Investigates cost structures for new and existing areas of the company.
- Prices new services or products by developing unit costs and projecting expenses.
- Prepares reports that compare budgets with actual expenses.
- May prepare existing or projected profitability analyses.
- Preparing profitability analyses and recommending or developing revisions to the cost accounting system.
- Assist in the planning and organization of the external audit including preparation of the financial statements.
- Support a high performing finance team to meet its commitment to all internal and external customers.
- Other ad-hoc tasks and data preparation required for both internal and external customers.
- May recommend, design, or develop revisions to the cost accounting system.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelors degree required in Finance, Administration Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3+ years relevant experience
- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs (Forecast Accuracy, Bias, Forecast Value Add, Market Share, R&Os)
- Advanced English - Strong written and verbal communication skills English with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with business stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
- Srong manufacturing Standard Costing experience with the ability to roll, set & forecast Standard Costs on the ERP system
- Good planning, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet due dates for tasks in your area

**Nice to Have**
- Excellent knowledge of SAP and advanced Excel.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments (preferably in electronics or medical Device).
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Continuous Improvement mindset and skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Ability to work in culturally diverse teams.
- Global Finance Experience, working in large, complex, matrix organizations.
- Capable of working under high pressure and high accountability.
