JOB DESCRIPTION:
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Maintain, coordinate and/or execute method & time studies, capacity analysis and line balancing.
Maintain, coordinate and/or calculate business unit direct labor needs to support year over year demands and to establish direct labor estandards in coordination with the finance and operations teams.
Coordinate business unit overall layout administration including space utilization optimization analysis for the short and long term. May lead Site Master Plan and Layout Changes Control Forums intended to accomplish a strategic and tactic control of space and capacity utilization of the site and/or business unit
Lead business unit layout change assessment forums. Lead layout changes that enable growth, space utilization and flow improvements.
Generate models and/or scenarios for Direct Labor Headcount requirements and volumes rates that support the best optimal cost structure for the business
Coordinate business unit overall layout administration including space utilization optimization analysis for the short and long term. Leads, facilitate tactical process improvement projects in the business unit, delivering tactical results in conjunction with site goals and objectives.
Evaluates business processes and determines initiatives that will yield greater productivity and efficiency to enable growth.
Acts as a cross-functional change agent to drive and sustain business process improvement for the site business unit.
May provide support and/or coordinate the implementation of 5s activities in manufacturing and or support areas.
Leads and/or projects using Lean, 6s, CI, OpEx, or other tools estimating levels of effort and resource requirements and working with appropriate staff to understand
scope
Support local Projects review forum (CRVP or similar) for Projects execution monitoring to achieve Site goals related with CIP initiatives or similar
In the early stages of the new product introduction projects provide support to ensure the proper capacity, space, labor and equipment required is granted.
Generate and share Projects Status reports
Organize and plan the activities, able to keep track and provide progress status updates.
Suggests and develops new initiatives for the organization that add value to the business excellence program
In conjunction with sister sites, facilities and maintenance create of the facility matrix needed to support the introduction of new product lines.
Influence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management on technical and business solutions
May support the development and maintenance of manufacturing systems intended to measure business unit key performance indicators (KPIs), and also general platforms such Monthly Operations Review (MOR) and Management Operating Systems (MOS).
Support business unit KPIs monthly review helping the organization in consolidating the information to be presented and preparing management summaries.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
7+ years of working experience in manufacturing / operations or similar roles
Computer software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Minitab, AutoCad).
Experience with Operational Excellence and continuous improvement methodologies. Such as lean manufacturing techniques, value stream mapping, or similar.
Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO guidelines is required.
Experience leading root cause problem solving methodologies following DMAIC principles or similar
Experience in project management involving coordination of cross-functional teams.
