Sr Buyer

The Senior Global Buyer performs and coordinates the global procurement of raw material for specific product lines to meet master schedule and customer order requirements.This position is mainly responsible for strategic purchasing of raw material to optimize inventory management.Works closely with Supply Planning to place Purchase Orders and reschedule raw material to meet production plan and optimize inventory.
Establishes and maintains supplier relations and partnershipsMust be able to collect, analyze and interpret manufacturing data to make decisions that may impact production, staff or processesIdentifies and implements cost savings/cost avoidance opportunitiesReviews and processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders while implementing procurement strategies, policies and procedures, while successfully managing risksServes as the key point of contact for authorized requesters, managers and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve purchase requisition and purchase order issuesMust be able to prioritize own assignments, while focusing on key tasks despite limited time and resourcesResolves quality, pricing and delivery issues with suppliersInterfaces with Accounts Payable and internal customers to resolve invoice and receiving discrepanciesMust possess the ability to maintain projects and critical tasks progressing when delays or problems occurAccepts the responsibility of a leadership role in improving processesWorks under minimal supervision while assisting less experienced peersAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned
