ROLE SUMMARY
The DDI/SLB Engineer will lead the design and support of Pfizer's global implementation of Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), IP Address Management services, Service Load Balancing (SLB) and Global Service Load Balancing (GSLB). Specific responsibilities include designing upgrades and service enhancements, implementing and maintaining 24x7 monitoring capabilities, and responding in the event of degraded service or system outages.
This role requires the individual to demonstrate experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain highly available DDI/SLB services and related technology infrastructure.
- Design and implement DDI/SLB services enhancements.
- Process incident tickets in accordance with defined support procedures.
- Install and configure network hardware and software in accordance with design standards and change management procedures.
- Maintain design and support documentation.
- Identify continual service improvement opportunities.
- Execute defined periodic review functions to ensure services operate as designed.
- Function as an escalation point for solutioning and troubleshooting complex DDI/SLB incidents.
- Mentors entry level technical colleague staff as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years' experience in the network field
- Demonstrated ability to effectively document network designs and communicate implementation details
- Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous DNS, DHCP, and/or IP Address Management (IPAM) support experience.
- Previous load balancing support experience in product such as F5, NetScaler, VMware AVI, AWS or A10.
- Associate level Industry certifications such as CCNA, F5 CA, CCSA, AWS SAA or equivalent expertise.
- A strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision.
- High technical aptitude; quickly learns new skills.
- Change agile and must act with a sense of urgency.
- Team oriented and willing to contribute innovative ideas.
