This position reports to the Accounting Manager in Costa Rica.
**You Will**:
- Participate in the monthly close process, including preparation of equity accounting, bank entries, engineering department allocations, expense analytics, and meeting internal deadlines
- Develop a deep understanding of the transactional flow through various systems to monitor and ensure accurate financial results
- Provide analysis of variances between financial results month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter
- Review, assess, and make recommendations for the processes which lead to or impact revenue recognition and recognition of expenses in the appropriate period
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures
- Help us continue to build and scale our processes, in accordance with best practices
- Participate in continued development and evaluation of internal controls and processes, in accordance with best practices and SOX requirements
- Prepare accounting schedules required as support for quarterly and annual filings
- Create high-quality workpapers, calculations, and memos as needed
**You Have**:
- 5+ years relevant work experience with proven progressive career path, public company experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with an ERP system and online accounting software preferred (NetSuite highly preferred)
- Deep understanding of financial accounting, financial statements, and ability to understand and willingness to learn technical accounting concepts and topics
- Ability to interact and effectively communicate with the US-based accounting team and remain professional and flexible under pressure
- Willingness to approach tasks hands-on and balance requirements of preparing deliverables
- Highly detail-oriented and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build complete and streamlined accounting operations
- Ability to analyze problems, develop/recommend solutions, and resolve issues
