We are looking for a Sous chef to work in Costa Rica!
As the Sous Chef at the restaurant, you will be an integral part of our culinary team. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, this role involves overseeing a team and managing a Mediterranean-themed restaurant operating from 11 am to 10 pm, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant accommodates 100 covers per service, with 60 for dinner.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning and execution, **emphasizing Mediterranean cuisine with influences from Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, etc.**:
- Lead and inspire a team of staff members, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and maintaining the highest culinary standards.
- Manage day-to-day kitchen activities, including staff scheduling, coordination, and training.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring adherence to quality and plating standards.
- Maintain a sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to culinary practices, aligning with the resorts' values.
- Ensure a smooth flow of operations during breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, meeting the expectations of a diverse clientele.
- Uphold hygiene and safety standards in compliance with local regulations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen team.
**Requirements**:
- **Culinary experience with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine; familiarity with Israeli, Turkish, and Lebanese influences is preferred.**:
- **Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.**:
- Previous experience in a sous chef role or similar capacity is essential.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.
- Passion for sustainability and alignment with the resorts' environmental values.
- Single status or willingness to relocate with a spouse.
- Salary: USD 3000 gross + Full housing + other bonus (Taxes: 15%).
