Department

The Data Apps Team sits within Moody's Analytics Data Solutions Operating Unit and is responsible for developing existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, implementing solutions, and supporting product strategy efforts for specific set of products.
The Data Apps Domain is made up of Sales Specialists, Solution Specialists, Solution Delivery Teams, Customer Success Managers, Industry Practice Leads, Marketing, and more, all to support our clients use of the Data Apps solution suite.
The Data Apps Solutions include both data and workflow automation tools, leveraging Moody's Analytics Orbis Global Data and North American Trade Credit Data.
Orbis is the world's largest entity dataset, with information on over ~400m entities, including specialty North American Trade Credit datasets, tracking over ~$2.5 trillion in B2B transactions and growing.
These solutions support a variety of customer use cases across our business segments such as master data management, underwriting, sales & marketing, credit risk, supply chain risk, etc.
This role will specifically support our Strategic Corporate Relationship Managers in developing existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities within a set of accounts.
Role/Responsibilities

As a Director of Sales you will be responsible for working with sales colleagues and other internal stakeholders to drive the sales process for a defined set of products or services.
Key activities include identifying and qualifying prospects, initiating new sales activity and managing sales cycles to closure.
Additionally, the role requires the assessment of client needs and providing clients with strategic guidance and product overviews.
- Build and execute on sales strategies to meet or exceed annual sales goals and targets that align with the company's vision and objectives.
- Provide current forecasts and pipeline information to management.
- Lead the development of business within assigned territories.
Partner with Solution Specialists to develop clear, concise proposals and deliver targeted prospect/client demos that address business needs.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Product Strategy to promote improvement in product quality and the development of new sources of revenue.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by identifying gaps, gaining an understanding of the specific issues facing the client based on their business requirements, and recommending solutions leveraging market and technical knowledge.
- Act as the market expert and provide product/service use cases during the sales cycle.
- Coordinate Moody's Analytics responses to requests for product and services information from prospects and clients.
- Represent the company at industry and company-sponsored events, as required.
- Serve as functional and market expert to resolve client issues through the use of interpersonal skills.
Assist in the preparation and circulation of market insight to create awareness of Moody's expertise internally and externally.
- Collaborate with and assist in the training of new team members.
- Position requires travel (approximately 30% to 40% of your time)

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) required, with coursework in business, economics, finance, marketing, or related fields.
- 5-7+ years' experience working in direct business-to-business sales roles, leading complex sales cycles to successful conclusions through the use of consultative selling techniques.
Focus on serving financial institutions, corporations, government, or professional services.
- Knowledge of business intelligence data /the global data market, and/or understanding of how organizations use data within business functions such as Master Data, Sales/Marketing, Supply Chain, and Credit
- Demonstrated success of building relationships with senior level decision makes and selling into large complex organizations
- Results-oriented, self-starter who can effectively interact across multiple role levels both internally and externally
- Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to diagnose issues and develop solutions
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and proven time management to manage multiple sales-cycles and meet timelines
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) and, if hired, present proof of vaccination on start date, as determined by Moody's.
