Summary of Position:
The Software QA Analyst I is typically responsible for the testing phase of the production process to ensure that final products meet company standards. Under the supervision of the Software QA Manager, duties include identifying whether software products are functional, reliable, and meet the end user's expectations.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Executes testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards
- Prepares data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows
- Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects
- Documents testing according to required procedures
- Familiar with software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies
- May assist with the creation of new testing scripts and plans
- Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role
Non-essential Functions and Duties:
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
- 1+ years equivalent documented experience in similar Software Quality Assurance role(s)
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Proficiency in computer technology and programming languages
- Strong knowledge of software Testing methodologies
- Knowledge in Agile and waterfall software development methods
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Physical Attributes:
- Observe and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company
- May type on a computer, using a computer mouse and computer monitor for up to 8 hours at a time
- Specific vision ability includes the ability to remain focused on a computer monitor for extended periods
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment
- The employee may occasionally be exposed to dust
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
- Will work in a fast-paced, team environment
