- Lead development team to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products to our clients
- Work with developers to ensure they have what they need to complete the job and help remove any roadblocks
- Work with the QA team, when needed (in conjunction with the developers), to help with any questions or concerns
- Work with Project Managers to plan out future jobs for the team and ensure job requirements fit with what the team can do
- Gather and interpret specs from Client or Salesperson and architect custom solutions that solve clients' problems in a compliant manner
- Anticipate change management requirements and ensure appropriate knowledge transfer, training and deployment readiness
- Communicate and explain technical/architectural decisions from other teams within Auto business unit to the developers
- Drive continual improvement in quality and efficiency, as well as suggest and adopt improvements to technology and efficiency
- Lead and mentor junior members on the team
- This is a permanent home-based role in Costa Rica. No relocation available._
**Qualifications**
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of working experience in software development environment
- 5+ years in a team leader or a manager position
- Experience working with big data, as well as regulated data
- Extensive knowledge of SQL
- Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Ability to comprehend and implement detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple projects
- Strong problem-solving skills of different complexities required
- Excellent proactive communications and planning skills
- Proven successful technical leadership of development projects
- Strong people management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage own time, as well as the team's time
