We are currently seeking a Senior Java Microservice Developer to join our team in Belen, Heredia (CR-H), Costa Rica (CR).
**Position Overview**
As a Java microservices developer you will be responsible for building software systems that have well-defined interfaces. Your primary role will be designing and implementing scalable and efficient microservice architectures.
**Position's General Duties and Tasks**:
- Lead the planning and design of product and technical initiatives and mentor Developers/ team members.
- Drive improvements in engineering techniques, standards, practices, and processes across the entire department, always encouraging a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Collaborate with the team members to ensure that the deliverables are on schedule.
- Engage with key stakeholders, internal and external, to understand user requirements.
- Partner with entire technical team to determine systems planning, scheduling and implementation timeline to ensure the appropriate timing is set to ensure the project can be completed in scheduled time.
- Participate in Agile planning and estimation activities to break down large tasks into smaller tasks.
- Communicate with customers and meet their various needs.
- Provide technical guidance to team and lead on issue resolution.
- Design reusable frameworks - Environment management and layout design.
- Mentor Jr/ team members and supporting the interviews/ evaluation.
**Qualifications**
**Must have Skills**:
- Java, Maven/ Grade, Spring boot, Scrum, JIRA, GitHub/ Bitbucket, Eclipse/ IntelliJ IDE
- Working knowledge in at least one of the Clod - AWS/ Azure
- Hands on experience in one of the PAAS - OpenShift or PCF
- Good understanding of DevOps pipeline
- Experience is setting up Continuous Deployment / Continuous Integration (CI / CD) pipeline for different platforms.
- Experience in solving technical issues with thorough research and investigation.
- Working knowledge of one the testing tool like TestNG, Selenium etc.
**Nice to have**:
- Migration experience from PCF to OpenShift
- Migration experience from on-premises to Cloud
- Any Certification related to:
- Java/ Cloud/ DevOps/ Scrum/ PCF/ OpenShift
**Education Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required.
