**About the role**:
Be the first iOS Engineer and build our iOS app.
We are a 9-figure business and still growing at a rapid rate.
This role will have a huge impact on the trajectory of the entire company.
We lean towards Swift for this app.
Our back-end is based on Solidus, a Ruby-on-Rails-based open-source eCommerce platform.
Our front-end is built with Backbone, Webpack, and React/Redux.
We use PostgreSQL and are hosted on Heroku.
If you have an interest, you can work on that as well.
**Essential duties and job responsibilities**:
- Personally build the app from scratch and lead major architectural decisions.
Read, write and review code.
Interview iOS engineers to join the team and cross-train other engineers onto iOS.
- Beyond the customer facing app we're building, we also have an iPad custom point-of-sale native app that's used in our 25 guideshops.
This role will work on that app as well.
There are some pretty interesting problems to solve - how to connect the offline and online worlds for our customers.
For example, things that our customers do online should lead to surprise and delight offline in our guideshops - and vice-versa.
We're inventing the future of retail.
**Requirements**:
- 6+ years of general software engineering experience.
- 4-5 years Swift experience.
- 2-3 Years of JavaScript experience with a front end framework such as React or Vue.js
- Experience with NodeJS is nice to have.
- Experience with SQL.
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
