As a Senior Generalist with Convera based in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, you will be accountable for providing HR support to managers and employees in the NAMER region across the employee lifecycle (primarily Costa Rica, other countries as assigned). This role will provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, employee relations, HR policies, HR programs, employee onboarding and offboarding. Additionally, as part of the People Operations team, the Senior Generalist will use Service Now to help build standardized global processes, procedures, response templates and knowledge articles to drive employees and managers to self-service.
**You will be responsible for**:
- Counselling and coaching managers on performance issues, policy interpretations, HR programs and employee relations matters
- Leading HR investigations, manage process and investigation outcomes including terminations and exit.
- Implementation of core people processes, including performance evaluations and improvement with the ability to support both first-time and seasoned managers.
- Utilizing the ServiceNow platform to track interactions with employees and managers to develop and streamline people processes making it easy for leaders and employees to interact with the People team.
- Administering and leveraging data in our HRIS (Dayforce) to inform decision-making and deliver excellent HR-service.
- Collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence (COE's) and HR Strategy Partners to implement and operationalize HR initiatives including performance management, training and development, employee engagement and other HR programs.
- Leading projects including writing SOPs and process maps and partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet deliverables on time.
- Facilitating training sessions and HR office hours with managers and employees as required, providing proactive support and communication.
- Solving complex problems and find solutions to automate HR processes.
- Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism is maintained when dealing with sensitive employee issues while exercising good judgment.
- Promoting an environment of positive employee relations, maintaining confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility
- Keeping abreast local employment law and ensuring compliance, balanced risk-taking with a pragmatic approach.
- Solid understanding of Costa Rica employment law, other countries and/or experience working in a global company is a plus.
- Comfortable working autonomously with little to no guidance.
- Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and talent management practices, generalist knowledge of HR specialisms (benefits, compensation, recruiting )
- Adept at using data as an input for design and assessing impact, is skilled at assessing tradeoffs and making high judgment decisions.
- 5 plus years of experience and demonstrated success in people operations, HR partnering, talent management and/or or project management with a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading medium to large global People projects, comfortable with ambiguity and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to design and implement high-level strategic initiatives, but also dig into details and tactics to get the job done.
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Verbal and written skills in English.
