3+ years working in a multinational company environment as part of Compliance Teams.
Previous experience and strong knowledge about the Costa Rica free trade zone legislation
Bachelors degree in Customs, International Commerce or related field.
Fully Bilingual (English - Spanish) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Microsoft Office advance skills (Pivot Tables, Access Data Bases, Advance Excel).
Strong analytical skills and proactive person.
Strong knowledge on asset management and compliance processes in other LATAM regions.
Proven accounting knowledge.

Compliance Team main responsibilities is to maximize the tax benefits and make sure Amazon SJO entities are in comply with all guidelines established by law in order to take full advantage of the FTZ regime, without neglecting local necessities. As part of the Compliance Team, the FTZ Compliance Coordinator will be responsible of supervising all Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and customs procedures and activities, as required for local legislation purposes. This role will be a liaison between vendors / shippers, customs agencies, recycling services companies in Amazon Costa Rica, and will assist with Customs Bureau and PROCOMER when required for audit purposes, donations, disposals and general inquiries. FTZ Compliance Coordinator will play a key role with other Amazon SJO departments such as GREF, IT, VLT Procurement, and other teams for review and validation of non-inventory trade transactions and will be custodian of all backup documentation related to customs and FTZ processes.
The scope of this role is not limited only to Costa Rica Compliance, as the team currently supports Colombia and pursues to increase the team's footprint in other countries in the LATAM region.
Key job responsibilities
Reviews the local operations control books and create mechanisms to reduce the the risk during potential audits from customs and/government offices.
Manage local CRI authorities (PROCOMER / Customs Bureau) during audits.
Implement and execute audit mechanisms that ensure the correct management of the company's assets by the different asset administrators.
Supervise the Compliance processes and tasks execute by external vendors.
Able to use the knowledge and skills to decide the actions and strategies to meet the goals.
Be able to work on multiple projects at the time time and deliver the results with limited guidance.
Optimize procedures, processes and share best practices with other Compliance team around the globe.

Working experience with Oracle (AP, Fixed Assets & Accounting Modules).
Experience on project management and lean six sigma.
Portuguese verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience working with local entities such as Procomer, Ministerio de Hacianda or Direccion General de Aduanas.
