**About the role**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, reindexing, and database integrity checks, to ensure data reliability and availability.
- Design, implement, and manage Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes to facilitate data integration and synchronization across different systems.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and index tuning techniques.
- Monitor and analyze database index health and storage requirements to proactively identify and address issues related to database performance and storage utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems, ensuring mínimal downtime and maximum system availability.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data masking, to safeguard sensitive information.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Microsoft SQL Server technologies and incorporate relevant updates and features into the organization's database systems.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- At least 6 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server
- In-depth knowledge of database development, maintenance, and administration in Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Hands-on experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Solid understanding of ELT processes and data integration techniques.
- Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of database-related projects and tasks.
- Willingness to work during overnight and weekend hours when necessary for maintenance and urgent support needs.
- Excellent communication skills (C1)
**Nice to have**:
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA: SQL Server, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics).
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions, such as Microsoft Azure SQL Database.
- Knowledge of other database management systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
