Reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager for Latin America, this role will support the financial accounting for the Latin America business, ensuring timely and accurate financial and local accounting and reporting, compliance with local statutory and internal control requirements.
This position will be a vital part of the Latina America Finance team and will take ownership of key areas of focus within finance. The role will drive process improvements through identifying and implementing areas that will drive efficiencies in processes to improve the quality and timeliness of finance information.
**Responsibilities**:
- Legal entity ownership of entities in Latin America including.- Prepare or review different type of accounting analysis at the legal entity level.- Prepare or review account reconciliations including intercompany activity.- Monitor the interface between corporate (Oracle) and local books.- Review local to US GAAP reconciliations and identify if new adjustments required by local GAAP are required.- Proactively identify system and process improvements and opportunities to add value to the business and support the necessary implementations.- Support the annual statutory fillings of legal entities within the region.- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis, and carry out ad-hoc project work as required.
Background and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Required.- CPA or local equivalent. Required.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting positions in public companies (SEC filers) in Latin America or a combination with public accounting. Required.- Excellent English level (B2+). Required.- Understanding of accounting and tax requirements within Latin America. Required.- IFRS/US GAAP technical knowledge.- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with large volume of data.- Advanced knowledge of Oracle or other ERP systems).- Prior experience implementing process improvements.- Prior experience documenting balance sheet reconciliations.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
