**Job Description**:
Following the successful implementation of a specialist revenue accounting hub in Costa Rica over the last two years, we are looking to add a Costa Rica-based resource within the Group Finance Revenue Recognition (GRR) team.
**Responsibilities**:
Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of global processes and controls to ensure that all revenue and contract cost accounting is compliant with the relevant global policy; as well as ensuring the appropriateness of the key technical accounting judgements being made in three of Experian's regions.
- The role will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, which are likely to include:

- Regional Financial Controllers.
- Revenue Accounting teams within GFS and Regions.
- Finance Business Partners.
- members of the Sales and/or Delivery functions.
- members of the other Group Finance teams.
- other members of the global finance organization responsible for revenue or contract cost accounting and forecasting.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
**1.
** **Support the provision of technical advice across the regional finance community, **reviewing technical accounting judgements to ensure that they are compliant with Group policy, are suitably documented/evidenced and (where appropriate) monitored at appropriate intervals.
Likely to involve the preparation of accounting papers on the largest global contracts.
Coordinate with both global and regional stakeholders to ensure that any updates to the global Revenue Recognition policy are applied in a timely manner and the technical interpretation of complex contractual scenarios is clearly communicated to the relevant audience in a clear, concise & timely manner.
**3.
Ensure the development and delivery of adequate global compliance processes & procedures**

Responsible for certain revenue recognition compliance, reporting processes and thought leadership, ensuring that the relevant requirements are clearly designed, documented and communicated to all relevant parties.
This will include ensuring there are clearly defined regional inputs and determining the appropriate global timeline.
Examples of activities supported across the team (with global ownership split between different team members) includes:

- The delivery of standard global processes and tools for revenue recognition and contract cost accounting.
- A global program of deep-dive compliance reviews;
- The annual revenue recognition policy compliance process;
- The review and update of global technical judgement / contract review templates and the global 'Revenue Recognition Evidence standard.
- Building/updating the digital taxonomy for revenue recognition conclusions;
- Accuracy of balances and disclosures for external reporting requirements;
- Representing the Group Revenue Recognition team on global system initiatives within the Prospect to Cash space;
- A global program of training for specialist revenue recognition teams;
- Liaison with and support of both internal audit and external auditors.
**4.
Coordinate the regional completion of global compliance processes & procedures**, ensuring that all in-scope group compliance processes and procedures are conducted & documented (in line with global requirements and timelines) for a number of regions.
This will incorporate working with the relevant regional stakeholders to deliver the full range of global compliance controls, processes and best practice knowledge-sharing for your assigned regions.
**5.
** **Act as** **a champion for revenue recognition and contract costs best practice, **ensuring that the team is both proactive in thought leadership (sharing best practice with all/other parts of the global finance community) and timely in its response to queries (favourable NPS feedback).
This will include staying up-to-date with external thought leadership in relevant areas and sharing that knowledge back through the relevant members of the global finance community.
**6.
** **Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the specialist region revenue recognition teams**, ensuring that the global agenda and guidance is clearly understood and that any exceptions or anomalies are identified at an early stage.
**Qualifications**:

- Professional accountancy qualification (CPA) or equivalent.
- 10 years of post-qualification experience in relevant Financial or Accounting roles.
- Audit experience with any of the Big4 Firms is _highly preferred_.
- Extensive IFRS accounting experience and technical knowledge - preferably related to IFRS 15 (or equival
