locations- San Jose- time type- Full time- posted on- Posted Today- job requisition id- JR00013476- This position will be based in Costa Rica and report to the Costa Rica R2R FA Lead and will support the execution of Fixed Assets Accounting related activities.
- General Responsibilities:
- Support FA Lead Associate to deliver day-to-day activities for FA Accounting activities such as
- Process journal entries postings for FA, FA account review, FA reconciliations, foreign exchange adjustments and corporate required accounting
- Execute monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities including completion of sub-ledger postings and posting to GL.
- Complete all requirements related to internal and external audit
- Responsible for compliance with Service Level agreements (SLAs)
- Escalate to FA Lead to work closely with local accounting teams to resolve discrepancies, issues and queries related to accounting issues in a timely manner by escalating to the R2R Process Delivery Lead as required
- Assist Global Process Owner (GPO) to identify and implement process improvement initiatives and best practices
- Support robust compliance environment with SOX, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
- Qualifications (Training, Education & Prior Experience):
- Undergraduate degree in Finance / Accounting
- Professional accountancy qualification (preferred, not required)
- 1-3 years' experience working in accounting positions
- Basic computer skills (e.g.
Microsoft Word, Excel and Access) and hands on experience with ERP systems
- Previous experience working in large multinational firm or Animal Health / Pharmaceutical industry (preferred, not required)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in English and applicable local language(s)
Skills/Abilities:
- Self-motivated with proven leadership and organization skills
- Knowledge, insight, and some experience in Fixed Asset Accounting
- Experience in handling high volume account portfolios and balancing multiple priorities
- Ability to work in culturally diverse teams
- Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to leverage and build on ERP skills to ensure operational excellence and service quality
