**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Alajuela, Coyol location in the Vascular division that provides innovative, mínimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.
**The Purchasing & Logistics Manager **is Responsible for overseeing activities related to Purchasing and Logistics functions, ensuring product availability and cost efficiency management in the short, mid and long term.
Purchasing functions include direct and Indirect materials, services and contracts and supplier management. Logistics includes materials flow through Inbound/Outbound Freight, Sterilization operations, and Warehouse Management.
Provides clear strategy, structure and systems designed and/or improved to ensure connection between internal and external stakeholders. Provides direction and actively supports subordinates and maximizes results through an efficient use of budgeted resources.
**What You'll Do**
- Provides leadership and direction in materials procurement from product concept to design and product cost standard, development, and design for AVCR Operation, through interaction with division and site management teams.
- Develop long-term cost improvement strategies and optimize the procurement and logistics costs of raw materials, supplies, spare parts, and MRO items.
- Coordinates purchasing benchmarks and develops complementary purchasing strategic plans to enhance Abbott's purchasing practices, including resource requirements.
- Oversees long-term inbound and outbound activities to ensure shipment accuracy, completeness and condition. Also, reduce shipping expenses through cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensures Logistics functions comply with local laws and Abbott's compliance policies.
- Develop strategies to optimize warehouse operations and enhance efficiency.
- Support talent development at a site level for grades 17 and below.
**Shift: Admin (Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)**

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field
- 7 years of related experience
- Combined Purchasing, Planning, Inventory Control, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or Project Management experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Master's Degree combined with experience
- Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
