Amazon is seeking a Program Manager, Learning & Development for Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis (FOAA).
FOAA performs accounting and analysis services, the primary customers being other internal finance and accounting teams.
The position will support FOAA globally, reporting to the Career Growth and Development (CGD) Sr.
Manager and working closely with the FOAA L&D Sr.
Program Manager.
Key job responsibilities
- Execute against the established L&D roadmap.
- Own programs for both junior and senior audiences.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in the area of Learning and Development.
- Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of development activities in relation to business goals on an ongoing basis and iterate on ideas and programs.
- Utilize recent industry experience to make appropriate design decisions.
- Partner with peer managers to address cross-functional issues.
- Partner with regional L&D and business leaders to localize training programs.
- Deliver projects across geographies.
You may participate in cross-company initiatives.
This role can sit in Northern Virginia; Hyderabad, India; or San Jose, Costa Rica.

A day in the life
A day in the life of a FOAA L&D Program Manager consists of managing the development and delivery of development initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, responding to questions from FOAA stakeholders, developing reports for FOAA leaders, researching opportunities across Amazon to bring to FOAA, learning and being curious to bring new possibilities to our learners, and evaluation past programs and brainstorming ways to continuously improve the experience for our stakeholders.
Our customers include financial analysts, finance managers, technical business intelligence engineers, program and product managers, and directors.
- Experience developing training in a variety of delivery modalities (virtual, hands-on/experiential, instructor led, remote classroom, synchronous/asynchronous).
- Self-starter capable to taking initiative and working with mínimal direction.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
- Technical aptitude to be able to quickly learn new technologies and develop various learning solutions.
- Knowledge of finance processes within large organizations (e.g., transaction reconciliation, GAAP, AR, AP, Payroll, etc.)
- Experience in employee career growth and development.
- Has effectively managed through ambiguity to achieve a desired outcome.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for a diverse, global population; including experience and comfort speaking to large groups.
- Technical skills: Articulate Storyline 3, HTML, Excel, data visualization.
- Amazon-specific experience: Wiki page development, writing the Amazon way, Amazon's Finance and Accounting operations.
