Payroll Manager (Coyol, Alajuela)Life Unlimited.At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.Are you interested in making a global impact?In this role you will serve as the assigned Payroll staff of a centralized Regional GBS Payroll Department and ensures timely and accurate processing of the payrolls.This will be accomplished by the complete processing of the payroll for all employees of Smith & Nephew within the region.Maintains accurate records and control reports.Provides continual process improvement and enforcement of all internal policies and procedures.Lead staff trainer on all procedures and system applications.Participates in year-end payroll close activities.Prepares and executes manual checks.Complies with and maintains all internal and external audit requirements.Operates as a backup for all Payroll CoordinatorsFor internal candidates only: M2What will you be doing?Supervise the assigned Payroll staff's daily activities including pay data processing, internal and external customer communications, and payroll discrepancy resolution for a centralized Payroll organization.Develop/Implement process improvements and system training for Payroll staff.Act as the contact for benefit/payroll transactions.Manage interfaces between Workday and local payroll systems.Process 'out of sequence' payroll adjustments.Ensure timely and accurate processing of data to be updated to employee year-end tax forms to include: third-party sick pay, relocation, and other information as required.Prepare required monthly, quarterly and annual reports including, statutory reporting, internal/external audits, and tax reconciliations.Worked as a member of cross-GBS, the cross-functional team on projects related to Workday system upgrades, local Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems.Ensure proper payroll data is sent to local finance teams for ledger posting.Execute and audit payroll outbound interfaces to be sent to third-party vendors.What will you need to be successful?Education: BA Degree in Payroll or Business related field, or equivalent payroll department experience.Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive supervisory experience.Minimum 5 – 7 Years of regional Payroll experience utilizing payroll applications at a large multi-country company.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Access.Prior SAP experience preferred with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.Effective communication skills, ability to learn quicklyPhysical Demands: Ability to work in an office environment and operate a computer for extended periods of time.You.Unlimited.We believe in creating the greatest good for society.Our strongest investments are in our people and the patients we serve.Inclusion, Diversity and Equity- Committed to Welcoming, Celebrating and Thriving on Diversity, Learn more about on our website ( Your Future: Discounted Stock Options, Tuition Reimbursement Work/Life Balance: Flexible Personal/Vacation Time Off, Paid Holidays, Flex Holidays, Paid Community Service Day Your Wellbeing: Medical, Dental, Vision, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Association, Parental LeaveFlexibility: Hybrid Work Model (For most professional roles) Training: Hands-On, Team-Customized, Mentorship
