Job Summary
Under close supervision, perform warehouse operations such as loading/unloading trucks, stacking bags, handling product, palletizing, etc. Document all completed work and recording inventory data; utilizing scanners/computers as necessary. Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of warehouse operations and promote teamwork. Operate forklifts and hand carts. Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Transports and delivers goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by
dispatcher.
Unloads or assists in unloading freight as required. Properly secures loads and ensures loads are within weight limits.
Verifies count and condition of goods loaded and unloaded. Make reports of overages, shortages and breakage/damage as needed.
Operates the truck/van units in a safe manner.
Reports any vehicle problems and defects to Maintenance Department.
Maintains a good driving record.
Ensures good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and acting in a courteous and professional manner.
Performs basic warehouse duties; such as material movement, equipment operation, keep associated record logs. Assists with inbound and outbound shipments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
High School completion or equivalent (GED)
Minimum of 1-year experience
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Requires a valid truck driver's license and skill in the safe operation of different types of vehicles
Familiarity with MHE (pallet jack, forklift) is required
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to an industrial warehouse environment. The associate works near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment and vehicles, and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases.
The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, twist, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls. Must be able to sit for minimum 2 hours straight. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
