**Responsibilities**:
- Manage and coordinate the bottom-up builds for central MA cost centres and deliver monthly variance commentary for results against KPIs.
- Lead the rolling forecast process and annual budget process for these central cost centres.
Work with other members of broader business planning team to understand underlying drivers.
- Own and produce monthly allocated P&L reports for MA leadership.
Assist the AVP of Financial Planning & Analysis with ADHOC reporting.
- Support the centralization and standardization of journals across the MA FP&A expense support team.
Review and approve the journals completed by your direct report.
- Act as the SME for non-compensation capitalization credits.
Liaise with controllership on managing the capitalization credit process ensuring that invoices are correctly accrued each month against a project ID and the capitalization entries are being recorded in line with schedules.
- Act as the SME for several non-compensation accounts across Moody's Analytics such as bad debt, depreciation & amortization, capitalization credits.
Review the account activities monthly, completing deep dives into variance drivers and communicating these drivers across the expense support team.
- Support the FP&A expense support team in the input of budget and quarterly forecast information into Moody's planning systems for central MA departments.
Support any overflow of load inputs from the wider team.
- Act as a mentor to your direct report and facilitate training to junior members in the FP&A expense support team.
- Provide assistance in ad-hoc / special projects as required
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
- MBA and/or relevant professional qualifications a plus
- Experience in using business intelligent tools, planning systems and financial modelling
- 4 - 7 years of relevant financial experience with planning and analysis processes
- Exposure to working with senior leaders on financial planning and/or reporting
Key competencies
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Advanced experience with Hyperion Planning/Essbase or similar financial system such as Anaplan
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic, progressive approach to the role, and a willing participant in continual process enhancement.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Comfortable with leading and managing an analyst, including providing consistent mentorship and training.
