Description Snap Finance is looking for a DevOps Manager reporting to Sr Director of Infrastructure and Operations.As the interface group between infrastructure and engineering this group provides the bridge for secure code to move to production efficiently.This role is central to the organization's efforts to successfully implement novel solutions, closely looking at how the different elements of software, security, infrastructure and reliability can be applied to the software delivery and release lifecycle.The DevOps Manager is supported by an excellent team of Scrum Masters – at Snap we follow SAFe and Agile processes to develop software.This person manages the team of development operations engineers, and it plays an instrumental role in establishing an interaction model with engineering team to speed up time to market and improve predictability of solution delivery.The ideal candidate is passionate about building a state-of-the-art software delivery and release capability, efficiency & automation and is an excellent communicator who can influence teams to deliver continuous value to both internal and external clients.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of talented DevOps Engineers - recruit, develop, and retain talent to build next gen DevOps teamBuild and manage a DevSecOps process to connect CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Nexus Repo.Work closely with software development and operations teams to ensure changes in software are smoothly integrated and deployed for users.Engage in on-call participation to assist the AWS service deployment pipelineCreate and maintain infrastructure for automated environments from lower to productionCreate infrastructure and products that promote and enforce high reliabilityEnsure the continuous monitoring and swift response to any issues with the software's performance or delivery.Drive adoption of standardized Source Code Management (SCM) and CI/CD processes and identify, implement, and track key metrics for visibilityCoordinate between multiple departments to ensure smooth software releases, minimizing downtime or disruptions.Mentor and guide DevOps engineers to realize their full potential by providing honest criticism and setting clear goalsEnsure infrastructure's health and security, making recommendations for improvements.Stay updated on trends to innovate and be efficient.Demonstrable Skills Proficiency in automation tools: Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Terraform and Ansible for streamlining software setup and managing its underlying infrastructure.Cloud services knowledge: Working knowledge on AWS Platform for deploying and managing applications.Packaging software: Experience with tools like Docker and Kubernetes, which package software for easy setup and management.Coding for infrastructure: Using code to set up and control the technical systems (like servers) where software runs.Communication: Ability to explain technical details clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaboration: Ensuring software creators (Dev) and those managing its technical side (Ops) work in harmony to achieve shared project goals.Problem-solving: Addressing technical hiccups between software development and operations, and finding effective solutions to keep projects on track.Leadership: Steering both the software-making and tech teams, making critical decisions, and nurturing a culture of continuous learning.RequirementsBachelor's/master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Experience working with diverse teams across wide geographical regions, both US and InternationalExcellent conflict resolution, prioritization and critical thinking abilitiesExperience with development and operational tools 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, tools and infrastructures for applications deployed in the Cloud5+ years of experience managing complex development, test, integration, and production environments with different versions, building new environments, and providing support for existing ones using tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, Github, Ansible, and Terraform5+ years of experience with software configuration management (SCM) environments for multiple parallel development efforts and complex branching strategies3+ years of expertise with cloud platform deployment (AWS, Kubernetes, docker) and experience with scripting to automate repetitive processes including creating build scriptsWhy You'll Love It Here...Company-paid recognized IT certifications throughout the yearGenerous paid time offWork From HomeSolidarity AssociationCompetitive medical, dental & vision coverageCompany-paid life insuranceFantastic work environmentFree snacks, and fun eventsA value-based culture where growth opportunities are endless
