Splunk is looking for a Manager, AP Operations to join its Accounts Payable team and be one of the first to help us establish our Costa Rica shared services center! As the Manager, you should have the skills to lead the Global AP process, including developing and implementing process improvements. This position will report to the Senior Manager, AP Operations.
**Responsibilities**:
- Help hire, train and mentor new team members in Costa Rica shared services center.
- Provide career mentorship to the team.
- Ensure workload is distributed evenly to ensure the success of the team and that we meet our SLA.
- Manage end-to-end global AP process which includes ensuring invoices are processed timely, reviewing and approving invoices over $100K for accuracy and policy compliance, processing weekly & ad-hoc payment runs and managing escalations for non-PO payment request exceptions.
- Act as an escalation point in AP communications: ServiceNow & Slack.
- Monitor and clean the AP aging report for all subsidiaries which includes monthly review and sign-off for 30+ day debit balance review for internal audit to review.
- Support cash management by reviewing and maintaining an up-to-date and accurate AP aging.
- Manage and resolve blocking issues by providing world class customer service for internal and external business partners.
- Participate in collecting relevant data, preparing trend reports and assist in analyzing the data and communicating the findings to managers. This Includes but not limited to AP flux analysis, top aging vendor accounts & aging trend analysis.
- Drive monthly, quarter-end and year-end close operations.
- Responsible for the preparation and completeness of the annual Form 1099 filing.
- Effectively collaborate with cross functional teams Accounting, Tax, Payroll, Procurement, FP&A, Legal and Business Owners.
- Liaison between AP Analysts and auditors for PWC request for quarter and year end audit.
- Collaborate with all AP team members to help maintain AP related accounting policies, including documentation of desktop and internal control procedures along with identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies by gaining better understanding of process gaps and the system.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance.
- This role requires 6+ years of related accounts payables or accounting experience, including some prior experience with leading team members who either directly or indirectly reported to them.
- 2+ years of experience in managing people.
- Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), SAP, Ariba or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with end to end AP operations, performing accounting analysis and vendor account reconciliations.
- English speaking.
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with management, cross-functional teams and business partners.
- Experienced with ERP systems - SAP & Ariba is preferred
