Manager, Accounting Latin America
Reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager for Latin America, this role will support the financial accounting for the Latin America business, ensuring timely and accurate financial and local accounting and reporting, compliance with local statutory and internal control requirements.
This position will be a vital part of the Latina America Finance team and will take ownership of key areas of focus within finance. The role will drive process improvements through identifying and implementing areas that will drive efficiencies in processes to improve the quality and timeliness of finance information.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage and review different type of accounting analyses at a legal entity level.- Support the Regional Accounting Manager and the Corporate Center of Excellence to ensure all local accounting and tax requirements are met.- Proactively identify system and process improvements to add value to the business and lead the necessary implementations.- Support the annual statutory fillings of legal entities within the region.- Review or prepare accounting disclosures that are part of the annual financial statements.- Liaison with external bookkeeper to ensure the proper interface to the local accounting systems.- Liaison with external auditors to ensure necessary support is provided during the audits (Statutory and SOX audits).- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis and carry out ad-hoc project work as required.
Background and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Required.- CPA or local equivalent. Required.- Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting positions in public companies (SEC filers) in Latin America or a combination with public accounting. Required.- Excellent English level (B2+). Required.- Understanding accounting and tax requirements within Latin America. Required.- IFRS/US GAAP technical knowledge. Required.- Experience managing a team. Required.- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with large volume of data.- Advanced knowledge of Oracle or other ERP systems).- Prior experience implementing process improvements.- Prior experience documenting balance sheet reconciliations.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
