Maintenance Technician

Our client is an environmental company which provides services throughout Canada.
- **Qualifications**:_
- Post-Secondary education in Mill Wright
- Heavy equipment mechanic/pipe fitter experience is an asset
- Knowledge of the principles of operation, preventative maintenance, and repair of pumps, valves, hydraulic systems, actuators and chemical feed equipment and related mechanical and electrical equipment
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in related field
- Ability to work around chemicals used in maintenance of facilities and water treatment processes.
- Basic hydraulics and electrical knowledge
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 35 feet high.
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- **Key Duties**:_
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment at the waste processing plant including pump stations, water storage tanks, pumps, valves, hydraulic systems, actuators and chemical feed equipment, filter presses etc.
- Perform plumbing repairs on copper and PVC & CPVC piping
- Perform repairs to air diaphragm and mechanical pumps
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions due to mechanical, electrical or hydraulic issues
- Fabricate parts and fittings as needed to perform maintenance on the treatment facility
- Install piping, valves, and other equipment.
- Communicate with immediate supervisor and plant personnel of issues related to maintenance and safe operation of equipment
- Maintain tools and work area
- Maintain up to date equipment inspections
- Operate fork lift and other equipment as necessary
